Delete your account

Self-service deletion of your SilverFriend account · Google Play Data Safety · Art. 17 GDPR (Right to erasure).

Option 1: From inside the app (recommended)

Open the SilverFriend app on your phone and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Confirm with your password. Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently removed from our systems within 30 days — including all call logs, transcripts and memory notes.

Option 2: By email

If you no longer have access to the app, email us at datenschutz@silverfriend.de with the subject line "Delete account". Please include the email address and phone number you used to register so we can verify your identity.

We acknowledge receipt within 48 hours and complete deletion within 30 days.

What is deleted

• Your subscriber account (name, email, phone number, address, preferences)
• All associated phone-companion call logs and transcripts
• Memory notes and life chronicle for the elderly person called
• Push tokens and device identifiers
• Authentication data (Cognito user)

What we must retain by law

Some data has to be kept for legally mandated periods even after your account is closed:

• Billing and payment data: 10 years (§ 147 AO, German tax law)
• Consent records: 3 years after withdrawal (accountability, Art. 7(1) GDPR)
• Safety events (§ 6 of our privacy policy): 3 years (vital interests)

You have other rights too

Instead of a full deletion you can also request a copy of your data (Art. 15 GDPR), a correction (Art. 16) or a restriction of processing (Art. 18). Just write to datenschutz@silverfriend.de.
