When we started building SilverFriend, one challenge kept coming back: finding the right events to suggest during calls. Senior-friendly events are scattered across dozens of municipal websites, community boards, and local pages — often hard to find or outdated.
So we built our own curated events database. And today, we're making it free and public — for SilverFriend families and everyone else.
What You'll Find
Our database includes over 560 curated events across 91 German cities — Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Dresden, Hanover, Nuremberg, and many more.
Events are organized into 16 categories: Music, Culture, Social gatherings, Health, Education, Nature walks, Sports, Dance, Cooking, Creative workshops, Digital literacy, Markets, Excursions, Cinema, Counseling, and more.
Every event is curated with seniors in mind — thoughtfully selected for the 55+ community. You'll find a mix of recurring events (weekly choirs, monthly Stammtische, regular walking groups) and upcoming one-time events.
Over 350 events are free — look for the "kostenlos" tag. It's probably the largest free senior events database in Germany.
How to Use It
Browse by city: Select your city from the dropdown — see everything happening nearby.
Filter by interest: Music? Health workshops? Social meetups? Category tags let you find what matters.
Search freely: Type anything — "cooking class in Hamburg" or "free concerts" — and results update instantly.
Ask the chatbot: Type a question like "What can my mother do in Munich on weekday afternoons?" and our AI assistant suggests matching events — displayed right on the interactive map.
See it on the map: Every event appears as a pin on an interactive map. Zoom into your parent's neighborhood and discover what's happening around the corner.
The page is available in German, English, and Spanish.
Always Fresh, Always Free
Our system scans hundreds of sources every week — municipal calendars, cultural websites, community organizations. New events are added automatically every weekend; past events are removed so everything stays current.
Know about a great event we're missing? There's a submit button right on the page — suggest an event and we'll review and add it.
The database keeps growing — and it will always remain free.
Why We Made This Public
Connection means knowing what's out there — a choir to join, a Stammtisch to visit, a free health workshop next door.
Whether you use SilverFriend or not, this tool is for every family supporting an older loved one in Germany. And when SilverFriend calls your parent, it draws from this very database to suggest events — so every conversation has something real to offer.
And if you'd like your parent to receive a daily call that includes suggestions just like these — join the waitlist.
